The End of the Year - December♣
Mittwoch, 1. Dezember 2010 / 05:02
It 's December again, the time that reminds me of snow and coldness, cookies and sweets, Nikolaus, angels, Santa Claus and his reindeers, christmas trees, presents and happiness and Christmas.
The birth of Jesus Christ is celebrated all over the world. It is the time to forgive people, to share and to love. That is why everyone starts decorating the houses with colorful lights, stars and other things. People go to the mall, to buy presents that we give eachother to remind us of the time when the savior of the Christians was born.
But Christmas here in the Philippines is not like the Christmas in other countries. Here, you do not have snow, no frozen lakes where you can go ice skating. It is really hot, that's why people sell ice cream instead of cookies, cakes and hot soup to make you feel warm. Originally, there are no pines here - but pineapple and coconut trees. Instead, people use plastic trees. But that is okay. Christmas can not be celebrated the same way everyway. What`s important is, that we celebrate it for the same reason: not for gifts and money we get, but because of the birth of Jesus.
