Nikolaus...on the 6th day of Christmas
Montag, 6. Dezember 2010 / 04:42

In Germany, December 6 is celebrated as the "Nikolaus day".
People say that Nikolaus was a bishop who lived in the 4th century and did many great things, like saved the life of innocent people and children, giving food and money to the poor, etc. It is said that the American "Santa Claus" originally came from the holy Nikolaus. The children usually put their shoes outside or hang socks near the fireplace on the evening of December 5, so that Nikolaus would put in some apples, nuts, gingerbread, chocolate and other sweets into them when he passed by. But only those children who behaved were given those presents. The bad kids were scolded by the bad guy who accompanied Nikolaus to scare them, so that they would behave from then on.

Anyway, today at school, our Math seatwork was killing me. It was so hard, and it took me two hours to finish twenty problems.
And then our play director came to fix the schedule for the practice with the teachers. The play is supposed to be presented on March. But I really do not want to do it anymore, it is very tiring, and our director is not really an inspiration for me. I do not want to be mean and offend her, but she is mean to us sometimes. And the practice takes away a lot of our free time.
